PRESS RELEASE

Wine fair FORUM VINI once again proves to be a crowd puller
More than 9 500 enthusiastic visitors attended the 24th FORUM VINI in Munich from 7th – 9th November 2008– despite lovely weather and autumn holidays in Bavaria. The wine fair with its 304 national and international exhibitors once again proved to be a crowd puller.

At FORUM VINI Preview, the professional tasting which took part one day prior to the start of the fair and which was a great success one year ago, the approval of the visitors from trade- and gastronomy-sector could not entirely meet the high expectations of the 45 exhibitors.

Nevertheless, the fair itself was a big success. Highly frequented stands from the beginning of FORUM VINI on Friday, crowded to overflowing halls on the popular Saturday and a relaxed and content finale on Sunday satisfied both exhibitors and visitors.

The visitors – predominantly consumers, but also professionals – had a good mind to buy and provided a brilliant atmosphere. Wines of all sorts, qualities and provenances were asked for and ordered right away. The stands of the exhibitors who took part in FORUM VINI for the first time proved to be in great demand as well. Especially the new presentation of delicate wines by La Rioja Calidad, a joint stand of 28 vintagers, appealed to the visitors.

Another magnet for FORUM VINI attendees was once again the ancillary program: The special tasting in cooperation with Meininger’s magazine „weinwelt“ provided about 100 tested red and white wines and attracted the crowd. Most of the 24 seminars were fully booked and dealt with wines, regions and countries, products and trends.

Already during the event new national and international customers – producers, trading houses as well as organisations – showed interest in participating in FORUM VINI 2009, the wine fair’s 25th anniversary. The visitors of next year’s FORUM VINI can therefore expect new joint stands – apart from the regular exhibitors.
